Another across-the-board victory for Oxford, despite more competition from other universities and the presence of Cambridge. OUDT couples did very well throughout the day in the opens and beginners matches, winning several events.
The team match was split level, with A, B, C and D teams competing separately. Oxford won all the team matches overall, but there were some tense moments as rival couples stole some places in individual dances.
Warwick
The Oxford University Dancesport Team triumphed at the first competition of the season on Sunday. At the competition, which was hosted by Warwick University, OUDT took first places in the A, B, C, D, E and F team matches.
Special mention goes to Daniel Lubrich and Clare Icely for first place in the team waltz, Nick Faull and Harriet Smtih for first place in the Team Cha, Peter Nixey and Hazel Crow for first place in the team quickstep, and to Alex Hobbs and Emmy Spencer for first place in the team jive.
The OUDT Beginners also had a very successful day, taking finals places across all four dances.
