Ballroom & Latin

Beginners: This class caters for people who have never danced before and would like to learn the basic steps for ballroom/latin dancing in a friendly, relaxed environment.

Beginners (Bronze): This faster-paced beginners class caters for people who would like to develop their ballroom/latin dancing to the level required for a bronze medal from the International Dance Teachers’ Association (IDTA). Those who reach the required standard can choose to take a bronze medal exam at the end of the year but are not required to do so.

Improvers (Silver): This class caters for people who would like to develop their ballroom/latin dancing to the level required for a silver medal from the IDTA. Those who reach the required standard can choose to take a silver medal exam at the end of the year but are not required to do so.

Intermediate (Gold): This class caters for ballroom/latin dancers at around silver medal level who would like to develop their dancing to the level required for a gold medal. Silver medallists who reach the required standard can choose to take a gold medal exam at the end of the year.

Advanced (Gold Bar): This class caters for experienced ballroom/latin dancers who would like to learn steps suitable for inter-university competitions. Gold medallists who reach the required standard can choose to take a gold bar medal exam at the end of the year.

Competitive Technique: This class is aimed at members of our team. There is some room, however, for other club members who are of sufficiently high standard and have obtained permission to attend from the Head Coach. If you are an experienced dancer (e.g. someone who has competed at intermediate or advanced level on the university circuit) and would like to attend, please contact the Head Coach.
