The 2010 Oxford Varsity Team

Our team is the most successful university dancesport team in the country. In the 2011 national championships in Blackpool it won the A-team title and was placed first in the overall university rankings, beating Cambridge into second place and Imperial College into third. It also won the 2011 varsity match against Cambridge. Oxford has beaten Cambridge in the varsity match in seven out of the last ten years.

The team comprises around 24 couples. Team members are selected on grounds of ability by the Head Coach. Most are selected at team trials at the beginning of the academic year. All team members must be members of OUDC.

The team competes in the team matches at six university circuit competitions each year including the annual varsity match against Cambridge. Team members who compete in the A-team at the varsity match may be eligible for a blues award.

The team offers demonstrations at balls and other large events. It has been invited to perform at London Fashion Week, Royal Academy of Art exhibitions and the Wings of Hope Charity Ball.
